Born: 1/22/1958, Albuquerque, New Mexico Jack Shelby Turpin passed away Jan 6, 2021 after his battle with small cell lung cancer. He was able to pass away at his home in La Sal UT surrounded by his family and friends, just as he wanted. Jack was born in Albuquerque New Mexico Jan 22, 1958 to Ilo and Jean Turpin. They later moved to Livermore California where Jack grew up and went to high school. He loved sports and accelerated in football and baseball, he was named outstanding sportsman of the year and had the attention of talent scouts. Jack moved with his family to Payson UT in 1975. This where he met and married Kalee Wilcock. Together they had three children Kassie, Josey and Cody. Jack joined the US Army in 1980 and served in the National Guard until 1990. Jack and Kalee divorced and he then had son, Stetson with Stephanie Carter. He was a tradesman and traveled around the United States working as an Iron worker. He loved to travel and always talked about the places he had been, and all the places he wanted to see. He found his way back to Utah and married Judy Barney. Jack and Judy later divorced, and he then married Shanessa Hopkins, later divorced. He loved to ride his Harley and live life on the wild side, he always considered himself an outlaw. He was always willing to help anyone in need and would give you the shirt off his back. He spent his final days in La Sal Utah where had many friends and the children called him papa Jack. Jack loved his family more than anything and he will be deeply missed by them. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Jacks son’s Josey and Cody, and special friends to Jack, Tina Robinson and Geri Falk for their loving care during his last days. He is survived by his daughter Yvonne Dellos , daughter Kassie Turpin Jacobson (Manny Torres) , son Josey Turpin, son Cody Turpin, son Stetson Turpin; grandchildren Shae Benedict, Lisa Jacobson, and Dayson Turpin; great grandchild Callie Benedict; Brother Dan(Judy)Turpin, sister Rene Spencer, brother Shane(Kelli)Turpin. He was preceeded in death by his parents Ilo and Jean Turpin. A small memorial and military service will be held Saturday January 16, 2021 at Jacks home in La Sal, Ut for close family and friends. Due to Covid 19, a celebration of life for Jack will be planned and announced for a later date.
