On Monday, January 21st, we lost a loved one who touched and enriched so many of our lives.

Bobby Gene Brookshier was born on May 7th, 1929 in Panhandle Texas to Homer and Violet Durham. She was the fourth of their eight children.

She married William Loyd Brookshier on March 16th, 1946. They were blessed with four children: Loyd, Ronnie, Lois, and Joyce. She was a proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

Bobby was a long-time resident of Moab. She retired from the National Park Service where she was a park ranger who enjoyed sharing her knowledge of the area she loved. After retirement, she maintained a very active lifestyle including travel. Her proudest accomplishment was doubling the size of her home to accommodate all her family and friends.

We will miss her and the cherished memories each of us have of her will live on in all of our hearts.

Tributes:

My Heart is very saddened to hear this news as Bobbie was a very special Lady to me with such a beautiful smile and heart. I know that you will still watch over all from above. My thoughts and Prayers are with the family at this time. Soar the Heavens my friend. Love You Lady.
- Cindee Stephens

Ah, Bobby...I will never forget your smiling, cheerful, face. You were one of the first people I met when I arrived at Arches back in 1987! Your sage advice carried me through some difficult times and I will forever be grateful. Rest, my friend, rest...

They Live OnThey Live On

   Those we love remain with us
   For love itself lives on;

   Cherished memories never fade
   Because one loved is gone.

   Those we love can never be
   More than a thought apart;

   For as long as there’s a memory,
   They live on within our heart.
